‘Unclaimed Estates’ is a record of deceased Estates, in their thousands, waiting to be snatched by an unjust legatee, due to no known or found rightful heirs, or ‘claimed’ by heir-hunters, genealogists, general busybodies and nosey family members.
Long and laborious, the process involves trawling through a regularly and hastily updated list of infrequent fortune, and even more frequent heartbreak.
Hours upon weeks of meticulous research cannot prepare you for the disappointment of no evidence of a family member. Many Estates have been, and will remain listed until their time expires due to no known heirs.
Thorough, on-going documentation and rapport cannot prepare you for the potential discovery that all your hard work is, for nothing. Obtaining certain information or disclosure of conclusive facts from suspected heirs, can more often than not, bring you crashing back down to reality, to the drawing board to start over.
Unclaimed Estates are difficult. Stubborn.
